Week 10, Term 3

Sorry that this is late. I am in Auckland at a Josephite Colloquium and didn't have access to wifi earlier.

This week is Joshua Edwards' last week with us. He is going to be moving to Taupo over the holidays. We are very sad to see him go, but we know that he will love his new school and make lots of friends in no time. We are going to have a shared lunch on Friday to farewell Joshua. Could all students bring a plate of food of some sort to share with the class.

Reminder:
As this is the last week of term, we will not be sending home reading books or spelling. Could you please make sure that you return all reading books (For example, school journals) that you have at home.

Holiday Reading Logs:
These are being sent home this week and we encourage you to start recording your reading as soon as you get them. Mr Macmillan has got some fantastic summer themed prizes. Including boogie boards, skim boards, snorkel and flippers as well as all the other stuff and they are now on display in the hall foyer. Let's try to have 100% of Room 14's reading logs returned this time. There are some really fun school holiday activities happening at the library too. Click here to check them out!

ALIM Whanau Post

Solve this problem with your families:

Write your answer in the comments :)

Reminder: Parents of ALiM students (Brayden, Jacinta, Chloe Y & Abbie) are invited to come and see what we have been doing in ALiM this term. Come to Room 14 at 11am tomorrow to see what your children can do.

This Week's Maths-Whizz Champions:

Our top three for Maths-Whizz progressions this week are:

Gold - Paulo with 20 progressions!!!
Silver - Rose with 16 progressions
Bronze - Rosa with 10 progressions

Sadly, we haven't had any of our Lexia students meet their usage or progression requirements this week. Remember, this is a fantastic resource and if you are privileged enough to be put on it then you need to use it.

Our New Student Sahr:

We got to welcome a new student to our classroom this week. He has come all the way from England. If you see him around, make sure you welcome him to our school.

Room 14's Te Reo Wall

Thank you to all our families for discussing the importance of learning Te Reo. We had some fantastic ideas which have got us all motivated to learn more te reo. We have put some of the reasons on our te reo learning wall as well as some language that will help us. Feel free to come in and read it all!

We have our te reo focus on the wall, and the te reo language that goes with that focus on the whiteboard. This is our current focus:
